    Rubber Fabrication

    Optimizing with silicone elastomers

Across many industries, from automotive, to bake and cookware, to molding, fabricators and manufacturers alike are turning to silicone elastomers for better, safer products, that maximize process efficiency from design to final product.

Designed with a wide-range of high-performance physical, mechanical and chemical properties, silicone elastomers from Dow meet multiple processing and performance requirements.

    Why silicones?

Silicone elastomers from Dow provide the total manufacturing solution. Offering protection in extreme conditions, including high temperatures, weather and fire resistance, and insulation, they also provide good resistance to compression. Silicone elastomers make the ideal solution for a wide range of applications because of their protective qualities and moldability.

    Which silicones?

SILASTIC? LS-49XX FSR Bases are developed to provide good handling in combination with high-temperature resistance and fluid resistance. These products are specially designed for calendering and extrusion of turbocharger hoses. They also are suitable for molded parts requiring higher heat stability and/or improved fluid stability.

SILASTIC? LTC 9400 Series Liquid Silicone Rubbers are low-temperature-curing elastomers that enable increased design freedom and process efficiency for automotive components and consumer goods.

SILASTIC? FCC 55-1047-FX Fluorosilicone Rubber is an FSR compound for use in applications requiring a wide range of service temperatures, good adhesion and high mechanical strength.
